Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: December 16, 2025
At Home Improvement Of Wisconsin, we strive to ensure total satisfaction with every project. Because construction involves custom labor, specialized materials, and fixed scheduling, our refund policy is structured as follows:
1. Consultations and Deposits
-
Initial Consultations: If a fee is charged for an on-site estimate or specialized design consultation, this fee is generally non-refundable once the appointment has been completed.
-
Project Deposits: Deposits made to secure a spot on our production calendar are refundable if a cancellation request is received in writing within three (3) business days of signing the contract, in accordance with Wisconsin’s "Cooling Off" period for home solicitations (if applicable).
2. Custom and Special-Order Materials
Once materials (such as custom cabinetry, specific flooring, or windows) have been ordered for your project:
-
These items are non-refundable.
-
If you cancel your project after materials have been purchased, the cost of these materials, including any shipping or restocking fees, will be deducted from your deposit or billed to you directly.
3. Work in Progress
If a project is terminated by the client after physical work has commenced:
-
The client is responsible for payment for all labor hours completed up to the date of termination.
-
The client is responsible for the cost of all materials installed or staged at the job site.
-
Any remaining balance of the deposit, after deducting labor and material costs, will be refunded within 30 days.
4. Non-Refundable Items
The following are strictly non-refundable:
-
Permit fees already paid to local Wisconsin municipalities.
-
Architectural or engineering fees for blueprints already drafted.
-
Restocking fees charged by third-party suppliers.
5. Refund Process
To request a refund or cancel a service, you must contact us via email at [kw@homeimprovementofwisconsin.com] or via certified mail. Refunds will be processed using the original method of payment unless otherwise agreed upon.
6. Contract Supercedence
Please Note: For active construction projects, the specific Refund and Termination clauses within your signed Construction Agreement will supersede this general website policy. We encourage all clients to review their individual contracts for project-specific terms.
